We believe that a student's academic success is one of the most important building blocks and sources of esteem that can develop a child or adolescent's life.  Our educational providers are seasoned, highly experienced and certified professionals in their various disciplines of Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Remedial Instruction and Comprehensive Assessment.

Our goal is to help regular and special education students with school difficulties achieve success through our ability to provide high quality consultation, assessment and direct services.

Each educational professional is familiar with procedural issues related to special education practice and administration, work closely as a team and collaborate with clinical providers within The Green House Group as necessary.  We have found this comprehensive approach allows each student and case to receive the benefit of broader resources which, in turn, produces high quality results and happier, more successful students.

Consultation is provided to the school on behalf of assuring student success via direct collaboration with the School Team.  Consultation is also available to parents by assisting with, for example, accurate interpretation of academic evaluations, assessing the effectiveness of IEP/504 Plans or perhaps seeking a second opinion regarding school proposals.  Parent, teacher, paraprofessional and caregiver training can also be provided as needed.

Direct Services are delivered in several forms.  Educational Coaching provides a student the opportunity to discover, understand and apply their unique learning style within the learning environment.  Homework Management Services can be especially useful for students needing improved organization, study skills and more efficient learning strategies.

Good candidates for Educational Coaching are often upper elementary through college-aged students with lagging executive functioning skills (i.e. problems "working to potential".)  Coaching is also provided to parents to assist with understanding and promoting their child/adolescent's application of newly-learned techniques towards improved school performance.

Academic Tutoring is available as a Direct Service.  Each tutoring program is individualized, based on the student's unique learning profile as measured through pre/post testing.  Instructional materials and techniques are research-based and recognized in the education field as best practice.

*  Comprehensive Neuro-developmental Evaluation
*  General Neuro-developmental Evaluation
*  Psychological Evaluation
*  Intellectual/Cognitive Evaluation
*  Specific Academic Achievement Evaluation
*  Evaluation to Determine if College-bound Students are Eligible for Accommodations on College
    Entrance Exams and Services at College Learning Centers.

Comprehensive Neuro-developmental Assessment is provided for young clients diagnosed with, or suspected to have, moderate to severe learning challenges or neuro-developmental disorders.  For example, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Non-verbal Learning Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities and other conditions adversely affecting the student's ability to benefit from the formal learning process.

General Neuro-developmental Evaluation is recommended for clients already diagnosed with, or suspected to have, mild learning challenges or neuro-developmental disorders.  For example, learning disabilities, disorders of attention (ADHD) or executive functioning deficit.

Psychological Evaluation is suggested for clients already diagnosed with, or suspected to have emotional, behavioral or social-interpersonal challenges interfering with academic and non-academic functioning.

Lastly, additional assessment is available in the dual forms of Intellectual/Cognitive Evaluation and Specific Academic Achievement Evaluation (e.g. Reading, Mathematics, Written Language).  For students in their junior or senior year of high school we also provide Evaluation Designed to Identify and Support the Need for Accommodations on College Entrance exams and Services at College Learning Centers.
